Perfume Exhibition
Somerset House, 2017
Perfume was a multi-sensory exhibition featuring ten extraordinary perfumes and their pioneering creators. The exhibition explored how perfumers have reworked their palette of ingredients to construct original and outrageous signatures which assault all of the senses, seeking out visceral, surprising and sometimes unsavoury smells such as smoke and sweat.
Working alongside the curators and exhibition designers MUF, our challenge was to take the visitor on an an olfactory journey through a series of rooms that were designed to reflect the inspirations of the scents. From the Moroccan desert to a Catholic confessional, a water theme park to a lover’s boudoir. Each room included visual, auditory and tactile references to the identity and influences of the perfumer.
